Like most people, I enjoy taking photographs when I visit places.

Also like most people, I have no special skill at photography—it’s an activity I engage in experientially, rather than with the intention of creating objects to be admired.

But I am often anxious that what I am doing when I take photographs of places is creating souvenirs.
